I trained in medicine at Middlesex Hospital, London and then undertook cardiology training at The Royal Free, Hillingdon, Royal Brompton, and Harefield hospitals. I was appointed as an NHS consultant in 1999 to Barnet, Chase Farm and The Royal Free Hospitals. I have been the Head of Cardiology at Barnet and Chase Farm since 2007.
I have trained in all aspects of cardiology but have specialised in the last 14 years in coronary angiography, intervention and stenting, with an interest in complex coronary intervention using Rotablation and intravascular ultrasound. I have undertaken considerable research in the diagnosis and risk stratification of coronary artery disease and acute coronary syndromes including acute myocardial infarction. I have latterly also developed an expertise in undertaking coronary angiography and stenting via the arm using the radial artery.

I am fluent in Gujarati and manage Hindi tolerably. Although devoted to my work, I try to combine family life and pursue sports including squash, skiing, diving and cycling. I enjoy eating out and travelling as often as possible.
