My specialist interests are therapeutic endoscopy; I perform most therapeutic endoscopy procedures in the upper and lower GI tract to an expert level. Further endoscopy expertise includes: Small bowel double balloon enteroscopy, Accredited bowel cancer screening colonoscopist, Endoscopic treatment of premalignant conditions in the oesophagus (including in Barretts).
I am the Regional Training Programme Director in Gastroenterology and am responsible for the organisation of ERCP training in the region. I have recently gained more experience in the endoscopic aspects of obesity management.
I graduated from the University of Newcastle in 1988. I did my specialist training in gastroenterology and hepatology in the Northern Regional training programme.
