I am a Consultant Gastroenterologist, specialising in gastroenterology and endoscopy since my appointment in 2004. I have acquired considerable experience in diagnosing and treating people with a wide variety of gastroenterological, liver and pancreatic problems.

I diagnose and treat people with indigestion and reflux symptoms, bowel problems such as diarrhoea or constipation, inflammatory bowel disease, abdominal pain, liver conditions including fatty liver disease, and pancreatic disorders. I undertake diagnostic and therapeutic gastroscopy, colonoscopy and sigmoidoscopy examinations to help investigate symptoms and have access to a wide range of radiological investigations supported by expert radiologists to assist in diagnosis.

To date I have performed over 10,000 endoscopic procedures. I undertake these on a weekly basis both for the NHS and privately. My endoscopic outcomes are regularly audited to ensure that I am maintaining a high standard of care.

I completed my gastroenterology training at Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge where I undertook a three year period of research into cardiovascular complications after liver transplantation. I was awarded the degree of Doctor of Medicine in 2005 and my work was published in international journals. I am a member of the Regional Training Committee for specialist registrars in Kent, Surrey and Sussex. I regularly teach gastroenterology doctors in training and specialist nurses in endoscopy and colonoscopy.

I am a former clinical lead for upper gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary cancers and the clinical lead for nutrition at East Sussex Hospitals (ESHT).
