Specialises in

  • Vaginal and uterine prolapse
  • Urinary incontinence
  • Recurrent urinary tract infections
  • Voiding dysfunction
  • Complex pelvic floor disorders and mesh complication assessment

I am a consultant urogynaecologist specialising in pelvic floor conditions, with a particular focus on delivering discreet, personalised care to women at every stage of life.

I specialise in vaginal and uterine prolapse, urinary incontinence, recurrent urinary tract infections, voiding dysfunction, and complex or recurrent pelvic floor disorders, including assessment of mesh complications. I work closely with a multidisciplinary team of specialist pelvic floor physiotherapists and nurses to offer a full range of conservative and surgical treatment options.

With over 20 years’ experience in medicine, I am an accredited subspecialist urogynaecologist on the General Medical Council specialist register—representing the highest level of specialist training and expertise in this field in the UK.

I am active in research and was awarded a prestigious National Institute for Health Research fellowship to complete my PhD investigating the aetiology of sensory nerve damage in women with pelvic floor dysfunction. I am currently an Honorary Lecturer at the University of Manchester, with research interests including recurrent vaginal prolapse. I contributed to the 2019 NICE guideline on urinary incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse, have published widely in peer-reviewed journals, and have received prizes from the British Society of Urogynaecology and UK Continence Society.

I have also worked with the International Urogynaecological Association (IUGA) international committee to develop a consensus on the assessment of pelvic organ prolapse in women with comorbid conditions, and I co-authored the final publication.

Alongside my private practice, I hold key leadership roles at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust, where I serve as governance lead for the urogynaecology service and the Manchester Mesh Complications service, and as department lead for the day-case vaginal prolapse surgery programme.

I am committed to delivering care that is as individual as the women I treat.
