I have been working as a Consultant Neurologist since 1990, after completing my training and early clinical work in Johannesburg, South Africa. In 1996, I relocated to Hull, where I have continued to practise as a Consultant Neurologist.
Throughout my career, I have worked primarily as a general neurologist, caring for patients with a wide range of neurological conditions. I understand that neurological symptoms can often feel worrying or life-changing, and I aim to provide clear advice, careful assessment and personalised care to help patients better understand and manage their condition.
My specialist interests are movement disorders, including Parkinson’s disease and tremors, as well as epileptic disorders and disorders of consciousness. I support patients through diagnosis, treatment and long-term management, helping them navigate symptoms and treatment options in a clear and supportive way.
Alongside my clinical practice, I have held the role of Clinical Director of Specialist Medicine at Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust (HUTH) on and off for at least the last eight years, and I currently remain in post. This leadership role reflects my ongoing involvement in developing and supporting specialist medical services within the Trust.
