I am a Consultant Rheumatologist and Physician, seeing patients at Spire Abergele Clinic and Spire Murrayfield Hospital, Wirral. I also work as an NHS Consultant at Wirral University Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
I have wide‑ranging experience in the diagnosis and management of joint, muscle and connective tissue conditions, including osteoarthritis, inflammatory arthritis such as rheumatoid and psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, gout, fibromyalgia, lupus, polymyalgia rheumatica, vasculitis and Raynaud’s. I regularly assess and treat mechanical back pain, osteoporosis and soft tissue pain conditions, and provide joint, soft tissue and intramuscular steroid injections where these are clinically appropriate.
I graduated from Christian Medical College, India, where I was awarded Best All‑Round Medical Graduate, and completed my specialist training in rheumatology and general medicine in Merseyside, achieving my CCT in 2013. I also undertook three years of research into the use of ultrasound imaging in osteoarthritis, leading to peer‑reviewed publications, national and international conference presentations and the award of a PhD from Newcastle University.
During your appointment, I will take time to understand your symptoms and carry out a thorough assessment. If needed, I may recommend investigations such as blood tests or imaging before discussing your treatment options in detail. You do not need a GP referral to attend my clinic, though bringing any relevant medical information can be helpful.

I enjoy spending my spare time with my wife and two daughters, one of whom is a medical student and the other is in the process of applying to medical school. I also enjoy playing tennis and attending sporting events.
