I have been a consultant thoracic physician since 2003. I have a specialist interest in the diagnosis of lung cancer. I also have an interest in occupational lung disease and I undertake medicolegal work in relation to personal occupational lung injury and medical negligence claims. I completed the Cardiff University Bond Solon Expert witness certificate in civil law and courtroom procedures in 2015.

I see patients with all types of lung symptoms and disease - cough, shortness of breath, wheeze.

Conditions include: asthma, COPD, pneumonia, lung cancer, pulmonary embolism, lung fibrosis, sarcoidosis, tuberculosis, obstructive sleep apnoea, asbestosis.

In the last 20 years I have performed/supervised 1000 bronchoscopies. I have undertaken 200 pleural ultrasound procedures (Level 2 competency).

With colleagues at St George's we have also performed 250 Endobronchial Ultrasound (EBUS) procedures.

I am a member of the medical advisory committee (MAC) at Spire St Anthony's.

My research interest was in occupational lung disease, specifically respiratory hypersensitivity to workplace chemicals. While at St George's I spent six months training in adult intensive care and became an advanced life support instructor.
