Spire Washington Hospital rated ‘Good’ across all areas in CQC inspection

Spire Washington Hospital has been rated ‘Good’ overall by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), following an unannounced inspection on 14 October 2025.

The hospital received ‘Good’ ratings in all areas for being safe, effective, caring, responsive, and well-led.

The inspectors said the service worked with the local community to always deliver the best possible care. Care was based on the latest evidence and good practice. Patients were always involved in decisions about their care and were treated with kindness and compassion.

Spire Washington was praised for its good learning culture, with staff receiving training and regular appraisals to maintain high-quality care. Leaders were visible, knowledgeable and supportive, helping staff develop in their roles.

People knew how to give feedback and were confident the service took it seriously and acted on it.
