Spire Montefiore Hospital rated ‘Good’ across all areas in CQC assessment

12 October 2026

Spire Montefiore Hospital has been rated ‘Good’ overall by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) following an assessment carried out on 11 February 2026.

The hospital received ‘Good’ ratings across all five key areas assessed by the CQC: Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive and Well-led. The assessment covered surgery services and medical care (including older people’s care), with both services rated ‘Good’.

Patients described staff as kind, professional and caring, and spoke highly of the care and treatment they received. They told inspectors that staff provided clear explanations, helped them feel at ease, and involved them in decisions about their care.

The CQC also reviewed 112 responses from the Friends and Family Test (FFT), of which 97% were positive.

The assessment found that the service kept people safe and provided good quality care. Patient’s outcomes were consistently good, and people’s feedback confirmed this.

People were supported and treated with dignity and respect; and involved as partners in their care. Patient’s needs were met through good organisation and delivery.

Nichola Evans, Hospital Director at Spire Montefiore Hospital, said:

“I’m delighted that the CQC’s assessment has recognised the dedication of the whole hospital team in providing high-quality care to our patients.”
