Join Mr Simon Tilley, Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, to explore cutting-edge joint replacement treatments with the new Mako Robot.

Come along to our free event where orthopaedic knee and hip surgeon, Mr Simon Tilley, will explain the benefits of Mako robotic-arm assisted joint replacement surgery.

You will get the opportunity to 'meet the Mako' with a demonstration robot available at the event, to show you how Mako robotic surgery really works.

Mr Simon Tilley will be discussing the benefits which include:

  • A quicker recovery time
  • Reduced post-operative pain
  • 2-3 times the accuracy of traditional surgery
  • Reduced length of stay in hospital

The talk starts at 6.30 pm and will last for around 1 hour.

You will have plenty of opportunities to meet Mr. Tilley and ask questions. Free car parking is available on site and refreshments will be provided.

Travel instructions

From the M3 (north)

Continue from the M3 onto the A33. At the roundabout, take the second exit onto the A33 Bassett Avenue. At the next roundabout, take the second exit onto the A35 Winchester Road for 0.6 miles. At the next roundabout, take the second exit and continue along Winchester Road for a further 0.5 miles. Turn right into Dale Road. At the second mini roundabout, take the first exit onto Tremona Road. Chalybeate Close is the first turning on the left.

From the M27 (west)

Leave M27 at Junction 3. At the roundabout, take the third exit onto the M271 towards Southampton for 1.5 miles. At the roundabout, take the first exit onto the A3024 for 0.6 miles, keeping in the left hand lane. At the roundabout, take the second exit onto the A35 Tebourba Way for 0.8 miles. Continue straight across the crossroads onto the A35 Winchester Road. Take the first left onto Warren Avenue, and at the mini-roundabout take the third exit onto Tremona Road. Chalybeate Close is the second turning on the right.

From the M27 (east)

Leave M27 at Junction 3. At the roundabout, take the first exit onto the M271 for 1.5 miles. Follow directions from the A3024 as above.

Train stations and Southampton International Airport

The hospital can be reached in 10 minutes by taxi from Southampton Central station. Alternatively, Southampton Parkway station and Southampton International Airport are about 15 minutes away.
