All Things Cancer: Part 1 – A Clinical Symposium for Primary Care

Cancer is a word that resonates in every consultation room. Whether it is a new "red flag" symptom, a complex screening result, or a patient navigating the aftermath of treatment, cancer touches the lives of everyone in our community. For a GP, the challenge is staying ahead of a rapidly evolving landscape to ensure patients receive the right care at the right time.

The Montefiore Hospital invites you on Saturday, 7 February for a free, intensive, practical update designed to simplify the complex and sharpen your diagnostic lens, at the Sussex County Cricket Club.

The Collaborative Advantage

The morning opens with an introduction from our Oncology Day Unit Manager, offering a behind-the-scenes look at the comprehensive oncology services available at the Montefiore.

Our keynote session on Breast Cancer offers a rare and valuable perspective: "The GP's guide to the modern MDT: who, when, and how we treat breast cancer." This dual-presentation by both a Consultant Surgeon and a Consultant Oncologist provides a 360-degree view of the patient journey.

Session Highlights

Urology: "Urological cancers made simple: a primary care approach" – Cutting through the noise of PSA testing and hematuria to streamline your referral pathways.

Dermatology: "What not to miss in dermatology" – A visual guide to identifying the subtle signs of malignancy in primary care.

Gastrointestinal: [Title TBD] – Focusing on early detection and the "red flag" symptoms that define the GI diagnostic pathway.

Why Attend?

This symposium isn't just about data; it’s about the people behind the referrals. By bringing together the frontline expertise of GPs with the specialist insights of our hospital consultants.

Join us to gain the confidence, clarity, and connections needed to manage the most common—and the most challenging—presentations in modern oncology.
