Professional profile

I am an established Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon in South West London, based at Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust and St Anthony’s Hospital.

I have a special interest in ocular surface disease and eyelid conditions and have numerous publications in this field.

I am currently vice president of the European Contact Lens Society of Ophthalmologists ECLSO – an organisation devoted to promoting contact lens education and excellence within Europe. I am a past president of the Medical Contact Lens and Ocular Surface Association (MCLOSA) and the Southern Ophthalmological Society (SOS). I am also a former BCLA council member and currently the UK national representative for MCLOSA.

I have a keen interest in ophthalmic training and am currently the Regional Advisor for the South West Thames region for the Royal College of Ophthalmologists and am a member of the ophthalmology specialty advisory group at the London School of Ophthalmology. I am a former council member of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists and former member of both the professional standards and training committees.

In 2013 I was presented with the Jonathan Kersley award for the eponymous lecture at ECLSO. I have also organised two contact lens themed seminars at EUCornea and remain an invited speaker. In addition, I have hosted several regional ophthalmology teaching sessions for Ophthalmologists. I recently presented at the SOE contact lens symposium in June 2019.
