I have been working as a consultant colorectal surgeon since 2022 and specialise in minimally invasive and robotic surgery for bowel cancer and benign colorectal conditions. My practice focuses on advanced keyhole and robotic techniques to improve recovery, reduce complications and achieve excellent long-term outcomes. I am one of the surgeons who introduced robotic colorectal cancer surgery at University Hospitals Birmingham and have a particular interest in complex colorectal surgery delivered through modern minimally invasive approaches.
I specialise in the treatment of colon and rectal cancer and have particular expertise in robotic colorectal cancer surgery and advanced minimally invasive colorectal operations. I perform robotic and laparoscopic bowel resections, cancer surgery and a full range of colorectal procedures for benign and malignant conditions. I also perform minimally invasive and robotic hernia repairs and offer minimally invasive endoscopic treatment for pilonidal sinus disease. My practice focuses on delivering modern, evidence-based care using the latest robotic and keyhole techniques to optimise recovery and outcomes.
I have extensive experience in robotic and laparoscopic colorectal surgery and have performed several hundred minimally invasive colorectal procedures, including a large number of robotic colorectal cancer resections. My outcomes have been published in a peer-reviewed journal and demonstrate excellent clinical results and safe implementation of robotic colorectal surgery within a modern surgical programme.
Alongside my clinical work, I am actively involved in training surgeons in robotic colorectal techniques and serve as faculty on national and international courses. I am a founding member and key organiser of the annual Midlands Robotic Colorectal Symposium, one of the largest meetings of its kind in the UK that features live robotic colorectal surgery. I also hold an academic appointment as Visiting Senior Lecturer at the University of Portsmouth and regularly speak at national and international conferences. I currently serve as Clinical Governance Lead for General and Colorectal Surgery at Good Hope Hospital, where I support quality improvement, safety and the ongoing development of modern colorectal surgical services.
