I am a Consultant Ophthalmologist with a specialist interest in glaucoma and complex cataract surgery, bringing the latest innovations and cutting-edge techniques in glaucoma care to Norfolk. I have about 15 years of experience as an ophthalmologist, having worked in three different countries including UK and Ireland. I have been working as a consultant ophthalmologist at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital since August 2025. I have recently introduced Paul’s Glaucoma Implant at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, expanding the surgical options available for glaucoma patients in Norfolk. I offer personalised care with a tailored approach to every patient, ensuring that treatment plans are designed around individual needs.
I offer a comprehensive glaucoma service including diagnosis, medical treatment, and the modern laser therapies, such as Selective Laser Trabeculoplasty (SLT) for open-angle glaucoma, the latest minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS), trabeculectomy surgery (primary and revision), and tube shunt devices (Paul’s and Baerveldt implants).
I offer a range of lenses for cataract surgery patients (monofocal, extended depth of focus, toric and multifocal). I am also one of the very few ophthalmologists in the country offering cataract surgery in a sitting position for patients with significant mobility or back problems who cannot lie flat, allowing effective surgery even in the most challenging circumstances.
I gained vast ophthalmology experience in the South West of England and Ireland initially. I then undertook specialist ophthalmic surgical training in the East of England region, which was followed by double glaucoma fellowships — first at Colchester Eye Centre, where I gained extensive experience in minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS) and complex cataract surgery, and the second at the world-renowned Moorfields Eye Hospital in London, where I trained under some of the most highly regarded glaucoma surgeons in the world. I gained hands on experience in complex conventional and non-conventional glaucoma surgery at Moorfields. I have performed nearly 2,000 cataract surgeries in the NHS.
I am actively involved in research and clinical studies in glaucoma, with over 12 peer-reviewed publications and numerous presentations at national and international conferences. My work has been published in journals such as Eye (Lond) & Journal of Glaucoma. Teaching and training are a key part of my practice, and I regularly supervise cataract and glaucoma surgery for ophthalmology residents and fellows in the NHS.
