I am a Senior Consultant Surgeon specialising in Laparoscopic Keyhole and Upper Gastrointestinal Surgery at Homerton University Hospital in London & in different private hospitals in London, Essex and Hertfordshire. I am also Ex-Clinical Lead of Bariatric Surgery at Homerton University Hospital in London.

I am a leading expert on all kinds of hernia – groin, inguinal, femoral, umbilical, epigastric, port-site surgery and surgery for gallstones through key-hole/laparoscopic techniques on a regular basis with excellent results. I have undertaken more than 2000 general surgical procedures and train other surgeons in these surgeries as well.

I am an international expert in weight loss surgeries and am designated as a Master Surgeon in Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery MSMBS by Surgical Review Corporation of USA. I have the honour of being the first and only weight loss/obesity surgeon in the UK to achieve this certification. Earning the MSMBS designation signifies my commitment and ability to consistently deliver high-quality care to bariatric surgery patients.

I had extensive training in the UK, Belgium, Japan and India and have experience of over 1,750 laparoscopic bariatric procedures to date.

I train other surgeons in bariatric and laparoscopic surgery and have made numerous presentations at national and international meetings as well as publications in peer-reviewed journals. I am the Director of the London International Bariatric Surgery Symposium LIBSS.

I am the Editor-in-Chief of a book titled 'Obesity, Bariatric & Metabolic Surgery - A Practical Guide' which was published in September 2015 by Springer. The book has achieved 250,000 combined chapter downloads electronically worldwide so far. Under my editorship, a 2nd edition of this book titled 'Obesity, Bariatric & Metabolic Surgery - A Comprehensive Guide' was released this year. This 2nd edition is part of the prestigious Springer Natures Major Reference Works MRW program.
