I am a consultant Urological Surgeon. I qualified in 1995 at Aleppo University, Syria and received the highest Surgical and Urological Training in the country. In the year 2000, I pursued my career in the UK and developed multiple interests including: General and functional/female Urology, Andrology and erectile dysfunction, Paediatric Urology, Urinary stone disease, and Urological Oncology. I currently work at St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust where I lead the General Urology and Benign prostate disease services.

I am currently the Lead for General Urology and Benign Prostate disease at St George's University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, a Clinical and Educational supervisor for Urology trainees at St George's University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and Chair of the Urology Department Educational meeting at St George's University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

Regular and occasional teaching has been provided over the years to GP colleagues, continence services, nursing as well as medical students in hospital and community level. I teach students at St George’s University and at The Royal College of Surgeons courses run at St George’s and I teach at St George's University Hospital Grand rounds (mainly Lower urinary tract symptoms - Urinary incontinence and erectile dysfunction).

I have a special interest in research and have won the best research poster award of the North West of England in 2005. I am also interested in teaching and currently chair the St George’s Urology Department Educational meetings. I teach for the Royal College of Surgeons courses, and play the role of clinical and educational supervisor to Urology trainees. I have presented my work nationally and internationally and have had many articles published in the national and international peer reviewed journals of Urology. These have covered different Urological subspecialties and aspects, including publishing new techniques for female Urethral diverticulectomy. I am also a reviewer for a few European peer-reviewed journals of Urology.

My additional qualifications include: Diploma in Laparoscopic Urological Surgery Strasbourg University, France (2011) and Mentorship training for Transurethral enucleation of prostate (TUEB) Germany (2015). I have received several awards including; The Smile Award (nominated and certified) at Kettering General Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (Dec 2013) and The Best Research Poster Award for the North West of England - Annual Research Symposium (13th Dec 2005). I also achieved the highest score of the year 2001 for the exit examinations for Urological Specialization (The Ministry of Health - Syria). I received an award and recognition from the Syrian Minister of Health for publication of Public Health advice book (Health for All) in 1998.
