Specialises in

I specialise in all aspects of foot and ankle problems which makes up my entire elective practice. There is a wide spectrum of clinical problems from bunions and hammer toe deformities through to arthritic conditions requiring fusions, flatfoot deformities requiring reconstructions and sports injuries such as ligament sprains and fractures. I use the most up-to-date surgical techniques to optimise outcomes and recovery time for my patients.

Approximately 2,500 patients per year are treated in my clinics, and 900 operations per year are carried out under my care. I have had received excellent feedback from both patients and colleagues.

I was appointed Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon in Medway NHS trust in 2009 and led the development of the foot and ankle service. I am involved with multidisciplinary teams to manage diabetic foot problems and rheumatoid arthritis. I undertake complex foot and ankle fracture treatments in partnership with my colleagues in King's College Hospital.

I graduated from Charing Cross Hospital, London in 1997 and trained at the NW Thames Orthopaedic rotation following which I completed a fellowship in Foot and Ankle Surgery at the world-renowned Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital at Stanmore.

I am a member of the Court of Examiners for the Royal College of Surgeons examining the next generation of surgeons. Also on the faculty of FRCS courses providing mock examinations and teaching for junior doctors about to sit the exams.

In addition to my clinical work, I have conducted a variety of research projects and most recently described a new Orthopaedic test for the Spring Ligament. Currently, I am leading an investigation into the regenerative properties of nail tissues at the University of Kent.
