I am a Consultant Trauma and orthopaedic Surgeon with expertise in all aspects of knee surgery. My practice includes management of sports knee injuries including injuries to ligament, meniscus and cartilage, management of arthritis using partial and total knee replacements and knee cap related problems. I deliver a modern, patient specific approach to the management of the knee problems and regularly manage athletes from a broad spectrum of sports including football, rugby, Cricket and MMA.
Working alongside a great team of physiotherapists and anaesthetists, clear communication with patients and addressing expectations realistically helps me in achieving excellent outcomes and patient satisfaction.
I a firm believer in joint preservation and manage early arthritis using various joint preserving options including biologic injections, cartilage regenerative procedures and realignment/osteotomy surgeries. In advanced (bone on bone) arthritis my philosophy is to only replace the diseased area of the arthritic knee. This is reflected by the volume of partial and patello-femoral knee replacements I perform in my NHS practice.
I have received extensive training in various aspects of trauma and orthopaedic surgery in India and the UK for a span of 12 years. My sub-speciality expertise in knee surgery was gained through fellowships at the internationally renowned Wrightington Hospital which gave me exposure to various complex aspects of knee surgery.
I graduated from MGM Medical College Indore in India and did my orthopaedic training in India before being appointed a consultant there.
In 2016, I decided to move to the UK where I trained further at regional and national referral centres before being appointed as a consultant at Wirral university Teaching Hospitals.
In addition to my clinical work, I am quite passionate about teaching and training and I regularly train registrars from the Mersey Deanery. I maintain an active involvement in academic research and currently am a associate editor for Journal of Clinical Orthopaedics and Trauma. I regularly present at national and international conferences, engaging with global experts in knee surgery and medical innovation.
