Mr Peter Tassone

I am a Consultant ENT/ Thyroid Surgeon in Norfolk with a private practice based at Spire Norwich Hospital and NHS practice at the Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital (NNUH).  I am a core member of Thyroid & Parathyroid Multidisciplinary groups.  In 2025 I was appointed the Training Programme Director (TPD) for Specialist Registrars in ENT Surgery in the East of England Deanery having previously held the Deputy TPD post.

I graduated from the University of Birmingham in 1995 and completed my Senior House Officer training at The Royal National Throat, Nose & Ear Hospital in London, including time spent on the Professorial Unit. I trained as a Specialist Registrar in Eastern England, including Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridge and NNUH.

I completed my sub-specialist training as a Head and Neck Fellow in 2010 in Melbourne, Australia at the Western Hospital and Petermac Cancer Institute. Here I gained a wide exposure in the management and surgery of many complex head and neck cancers. At that time I received a 'CARES' Award from the Western Hospital.

I am actively involved in surgical education.  I have written various book chapters and co-author of “Bullet points in ENT” first published in 2014, a text for surgical training. 

In 2019 I received the Silver award for Clinical Teaching at NNUH.

I also initiated regional webinars in 2019 in ENT for training and continue to lead on these (over 30 to date). 

In my free time I enjoy music, running (including the occasional Parkrun & 10km) and cooking.
