I graduated in medicine (MBBS) in 1988 and completed my Master’s degree (MS) in Orthopaedics in 1991 from Seth GS Medical College/KEM Hospital where I also worked as a Senior Lecturer. I ranked first in KM Hospital and second in Mumbai University for Master’s exam. Later I joined Nottingham/Mid Trent Higher Surgical Training Programme and later went to Cambridge/East Anglia Higher Surgical training programme to complete training in Orthopaedics where I was awarded Certificate of Completion of Surgical Training CCST in Orthopaedic and Trauma surgery in the UK.
As a part of my training, I have done knee and shoulder fellowship. During my shoulder fellowship, I learnt to deal with rotator cuff repairs, arthroscopic shoulder surgery, shoulder joint replacement and shoulder stabilisation surgeries.
I was trained at the Nottingham shoulder and elbow unit and at Norwich upper limb and trauma unit. My NHS practice includes dealing with sports injuries, knee and shoulder injuries. I routinely do shoulder replacements, arthroscopic rotator cuff repairs, arthroscopic shoulder stabilisation surgeries.
I also completed Fellowship in Hand Surgery at world recognised, Pulvertaft Hand unit in Derby. I was trained in treating nerve decompression, Dupuytren’s contracture, thumb arthritis surgeries.
