Mr Mohan Pallagura

I am an experienced Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in shoulder, elbow and upper limb conditions. I provide expert assessment and treatment for a wide range of orthopaedic problems, helping patients understand their condition and explore the most appropriate treatment options.

My particular expertise is in shoulder surgery, including minimally invasive and arthroscopic procedures. Arthroscopic surgery uses small incisions and a camera to diagnose and treat problems within the joint. I also completed a travelling fellowship, visiting several prestigious institutions in France to further develop my knowledge and experience.

Alongside my private practice, I am a Consultant at Whiston Hospital, part of St Helens and Knowsley Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, where I also serve as the lead surgeon for infection control.

I treat a broad range of shoulder, elbow, hand and wrist conditions. My practice includes the management of shoulder pain and injuries, rotator cuff tears, frozen shoulder, shoulder impingement syndrome, shoulder dislocation and instability, sports injuries, biceps tendon tears and acromioclavicular (AC) joint problems.

I also perform shoulder replacement surgery, including reverse shoulder replacements, and treat disorders affecting the elbow such as tennis elbow and golfer’s elbow.

In addition, I manage a variety of hand and wrist conditions, including carpal tunnel syndrome, trigger finger, thumb arthritis, Dupuytren’s contracture and De Quervain’s disease.

My aim is to help reduce pain, restore function and support patients in returning to the activities that are important to them.
