I am an Orthopaedic Hand, Wrist and Upper Limb Surgeon with over 15 years of surgical experience, specialising in complex hand and wrist reconstruction, peripheral nerve problems, upper-limb trauma and minimally-invasive techniques.
I have a particular interest in the full spectrum of hand and wrist conditions, including degenerative and arthritic problems, with a recognised specialist focus in the management of Dupuytren disease. I have introduced service innovations such as needle fasciotomy to enhance patient access and recovery. My training across Sudan, the UK and Europe has given me a diverse surgical perspective and a high level of adaptability and resourcefulness, allowing me to integrate different surgical philosophies and standards into a mature and thoughtful practice.
As a former anatomist, I have a strong command of upper-limb anatomy, which supports safe dissection, meticulous technique and confident reconstruction. I am recognised for developing integrated multidisciplinary pathways that improve access, quality and patient experience, and I maintain a modern, patient-centred practice built on clear communication, evidence-based care and collaborative working across orthopaedics, plastics, rheumatology and therapy specialties.
I provide comprehensive care for carpal tunnel syndrome, trigger finger, Dupuytrens disease, thumb base and wrist arthritis, tendon injuries, ganglion cysts, peripheral nerve problems, and hand or wrist fractures, as well as cubital tunnel syndrome, tennis elbow, frozen shoulder, rotator cuff pain, and simple arthritis or injuries of the elbow and shoulder.
Key hole Surgery to Wrist, elbow and shoulder problems
I have over 15 years of trauma and orthopaedic operative experience, with more than 4,000 procedures recorded in my logbook over the past decade. Approximately half of these are upper-limb operations. Since specialising in hand and wrist surgery during my fellowships and subsequent consultant practice, my work has focused heavily on both elective and trauma cases in this subspecialty.
In the last year alone, I performed more than 400 procedures across the NHS and private sectors. The majority of these were elective hand and wrist operations, including carpal tunnel decompression, cubital tunnel release, trigger finger release, Dupuytren’s fasciectomy, and trapeziectomy, in addition to a broad range of trauma-related interventions.
I lead key service-improvement projects and organise multidisciplinary meetings that enhance coordination and patient flow. I take an active role in teaching and professional development, ensuring high standards within the teams I work with. Personally, I am reliable, approachable, and focused on clear communication, ensuring patients and colleagues feel supported throughout the care pathway. My leadership style is collaborative and solution-focused, with a consistent commitment to safe, efficient, and patient-centred care.
