I am a double-qualified Consultant Ophthalmologist practicing in London, Kent, Surrey and Sussex, who specialises in cataracts, cataract surgery, premium intraocular lens surgery, refractive laser eye surgery, ocular surface diseases, corneal diseases and graft and dry eye. I have more than 17 years' experience in ophthalmology during which I have performed thousands of sight-saving surgeries.
I am a fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists in London, the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh, the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons in Glasgow, the European Board of Ophthalmology, and the International Council of Ophthalmology. I am a member of the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and The European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons and EuCornea.
I travel abroad as an invited guest to share my expertise through teaching and live surgeries. I am the Fellowship Programme Director in the world-renowned Corneoplastic Unit, Queen Victoria Hospital where I train several fellows annually. I am a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon in the Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust as well.
I am also an ophthalmology examiner in two Royal Colleges and supervise undergraduate doctors at The University of Brighton Independent Research Projects Programme in The Undergraduate Medical School, where I supervise the projects of medical students. I supervise Masters and Doctoral degree students in ophthalmology.Â
I hold the title of Associate Professor of Ophthalmology in The Research Institute of Ophthalmology, Egypt.
I hold multiple vocational diplomas from multiple awarding bodies. Having obtained two academic qualifications through my career of more than 17 years in ophthalmology and with more than 50 peer-reviewed publications, I put evidence-based ophthalmology at the heart of my practice.
