Mr Michael Quaye

Consultant Spinal Surgeon

BSc. (Hons) MB BS Lond MRCSEng FRCS (Tr & Orth)

I am trained in all aspects of surgical and medical management of spinal issues. I aim to leave all patients with a detailed understanding of their problem and a plan to get them on the road to recovery. I believe life should be enjoyed and recognise the impact spinal problems can have.

Originally from Cheshire, I studied medicine at St Bartholomew’s and the Royal London School of Medicine, graduating in 2006. I received the British Orthopaedic Research Society Student Award in 2006.

As an Orthopaedic Surgeon, I have a very good understanding of problems arising from other joints such as the hip, knee or shoulder and how these can be confused with, as well as interreact with spinal problems. I see both younger adults with sports related injuries and older patients with degenerative conditions.

I use my knowledge, skills and experience to approach a case individually, and always take a multidisciplinary, holistic approach to all my patients.

I have an exclusively adult NHS practice, where my major interests are scoliosis, trauma, tumours and degenerative surgery. I have undertaken advanced training in all areas of specific clinical interest, including fellowships in Southampton University Hospital, Oxford Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre, Groote Schuur in Cape Town and Frimley Park Hospital.

My philosophy is to keep the management of spinal problems as simple and as minimally invasive as possible.
