Specialises in
I am highly experienced Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon at Spire Leeds Hospital and Spire Harrogate Clinic, specialising in all aspects of foot and ankle surgery, including sports injuries, joint replacement, deformity correction, arthroscopic (keyhole) techniques, minimally invasive surgery, and revision procedures. I also treat a wide range of knee conditions, with a particular interest in arthroscopic knee surgery and knee replacement.
I was appointed as a consultant in 2010 and now lead a busy practice in Harrogate. I currently serve as the Clinical Lead for Trauma and Orthopaedics at Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust. My specialist training includes dedicated fellowships in foot and ankle surgery and knee surgery, giving me a broad and advanced skill set for managing both routine and complex lower‑limb conditions.
I work closely with a multidisciplinary team of physiotherapists, podiatrists, orthotists and fellow surgeons to deliver high-quality, patient-centred care. I place strong emphasis on clear communication and shared decision-making, ensuring patients fully understand their diagnosis and treatment options.
Some of the principal treatments carried out by Mr Mark Fardon at Spire include:
