I am a Consultant Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Surgeon with 17 years of experience as a consultant. I work at University Hospitals of Leicester, Nuffield Health Leicester, and Spire Leicester Hospital. I enjoy teaching and am an Honorary Professor at DeMontfort University Leicester and Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Leicester. I am passionate about foot and ankle research and education and play a very active role as a member of council and committee member of the Scientific Committee of the European Foot and Ankle Society (EFAS) and the Education Committee of the British Foot and Ankle Society (BOFAS). I have written three books in the fields of foot and ankle surgery, joint injections and Orthopaedic education for Primary care that have been translated in international languages. One of these books won the prestigious BMA best book award in 2021.

I treat the vast majority of foot and ankle conditions. My particular areas of interest in teaching and research include: Bunion surgery, arthritis of foot and ankle, foot and ankle sports injuries, flat feet, deformity correction, Achilles tendon disorders, neglected Achilles rupture, Morton's neuroma, pes caus, Tibialis Posterior dysfunction, ankle arthroscopy, ankle joint preservation surgery and arthroscopic ankle fusion.

I have 32 years of Orthopaedic Surgeon experience and was appointed as a foot and ankle consultant at Leicester in 2008. I have performed over 10,000 orthopaedic procedures – with the vast majority in the last 17 years being foot and ankle operations.

I run education courses for GPs, including a course teaching GPs safe techniques for performing musculoskeletal injections in the community. 

Currently I am a professor at DeMontfort University Leicester and a senior lecturer at University of Leicester. I am also the Director British European Orthopaedic Foot Ankle Academy. 

I am currently a member of the Scientific committee of the British Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society.

I am the chief editor of a recently published book ‘An Orthopaedics guide for today's GP’. I have written a chapter on forefoot disorders in the ‘Oxford Textbook of Trauma and Orthopaedics’ and am involved in a number of research projects at University Hospitals of Leicester.

I am a dog lover and had my first dog at the age of 11 years. Since then I am fortunate to have a number of dogs and each of them have a special memory speacially Bruno, Barney, Chinki and Julie. I am fortunate to be the best friend of so many human's best friends.
