I have been a Urological Surgeon since 1995 and relocated to the UK in 2003 and to Humberside since 2006.

I am the Director of Urology Solutions Ltd, a medical and educational company. In addition to my clinical work, I was also for several years, a Honorary Professor of Urology at the Universidad de la Republica, Montevideo.

I find it very satisfying to care for patients at Spire Hospitals' superb facilities, at leisure and with complete dedication. Urology is a vast field, I spend considerable time helping patients with check up assessment of prostate cancer and other prostate diseases, voiding symptoms, urinary bleeding, bladder cancer, kidney cancer and sexual problems.

I trained in laparoscopic surgery in Heilbronn in Germany and Eastbourne, and in female urology at UCLA in California. I have also been performing treatment of renal tumours including needle tissue ablation (cryotherapy), the UroLift procedure and Rezum needle treatment for prostate enlargment among many other operations and newly developed interventions. We have a continence team and provide care for the various types of urinary incontinence, including recurrences after previous treatments. I am involved in clinical quality improvement by implementing new technology, assessing it and working on patient safety.

I have performed more than 1,000 laparoscopic operations since 1998. I average more than 100 resections per year (TURPs and TURBTs) and a similar number of minimally invasive interventions.
