I am a General Surgeon specialising in colorectal surgery and I trained in Scotland, Southeast Thames rotation for higher surgical training and RSO fellowship at St Mark's Hospital for a year. Following this, I completed Ethicon sponsored laparoscopic fellowship at St Mark's Hospital and training in locally advanced rectal cancers including pelvic exenteration.
I was appointed at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital in October 2014 as a Consultant General and Colorectal Surgeon and I also hold an Honorary Consultant Surgeon appointment at St Mark's Hospital, Harrow. I lead advanced rectal cancer surgery and jointly lead anal cancer surgery.

Mr Shaikh is a keen chess and cricket player. Most of his free time is spent looking after his children and their education as he has two children of school age. He quite enjoys armature cooking and finds cycling and running relaxing after a busy period at work.
