Specialises in
I am a fellowship-trained Consultant Spinal Neurosurgeon with expertise in managing degenerative spinal conditions and traumatic injuries. I began my career in New Delhi, India, where I received foundational medical training and attended residencies in general surgery and neurosurgery. These early experiences built a robust clinical acumen and technical proficiency that continues to elevate my practice.
In the United Kingdom, I advanced my neurosurgical skills at prestigious institutions including Western General Hospital in Edinburgh, James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough, and the Walton Centre in Liverpool. I earned my FRCS in Neurosurgery from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2018, underscoring my commitment to excellence. In 2016, I was honoured with the “Prize for Best Performance” by the European Association of Neurosurgical Societies for achieving the highest score in the Part 1 European Board Examination.
A transformative one-year Complex Spine Fellowship at Leeds General Infirmary in 2018 further honed my abilities to manage spinal trauma, deformities, tumours, and infections using integrated neurosurgical and orthopaedic techniques. My dedication is reflected in becoming a Fellow of the European Board of Neurological Surgery, joining the GMC Specialist Register in Neurosurgery, and evolving from locum neurosurgery consultant to Consultant Spine Surgeon at Ninewells Hospital, Dundee.
I take a multidisciplinary approach that combines conservative treatments, targeted injections, and advanced surgical interventions to create personalised treatment plans tailored to each patient’s unique needs. I perform a wide range of surgical procedures — lumbar decompression, lumbar laminectomy, lumbar discectomy, and lumbar spine fusion, along with anterior cervical discectomy, cervical laminectomy, and cervical foraminotomy. Beyond surgery, I also specialise in minimally invasive procedures such as vertebroplasty, lumbar facet joint and nerve root injections, sacroiliac joint injections, lumbar medial branch blocks, and coccyx injections, all designed to alleviate pain and enhance functional recovery.
Beyond clinical practice, I am deeply passionate about education and mentorship. I actively teach junior doctors, trainee surgeons, and postgraduate students, including those enrolled in the University of Dundee’s MCh(Orth) course and I was honoured as the "Trainer of the Year" for 2023 by the East of Scotland Trauma and Orthopaedics trainees.
I am equally dedicated to transparent, compassionate communication, ensuring my patients fully understand their diagnoses and treatment options. This patient-centric focus, which has consistently earned outstanding reviews on trusted platforms like Doctify, reinforces my commitment to advancing patient care. I remain driven by the pursuit of clinical excellence and innovation, continuously striving to improve outcomes and contribute to the future of spinal neurosurgery.
