I have more than 15 years' experience in general surgery. I have great experience in laparoscopic colorectal/minimal access surgery. I have lots of experience in proctology, including perianal diseases like surgery for piles, anal fistula skin tags, treatment of anal fissures and pilonidal sinus disease. I perform all types of hernia surgery.

My experience includes all aspects of colorectal cancer surgery, benign colorectal surgery for diverticular disease, inflammatory bowel disease, (Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis) in addition to endoscopy, transanal minimally invasive surgery (TAMIS) for low rectal polyps and cancers.

I have performed a large number of colorectal resection, hernia operations and proctology cases like anal fistulae, haemorrhoidectomies, surgery for pilonidal sinus. I have performed more than 2,000 endoscopic procedures (colonoscopy and flexible sigmoidoscopies).

My training included a fellowship in cancer surgery. I am a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons, The Association of Coloproctology in Great Britain and Ireland, The Joint Advisory Group for Endoscopy and the European Association of Endoscopic Surgery.

I published the first Bristol series in minimally invasive surgery for low rectal lesions.

I am the lead for colorectal surgery in North Bristol NHS. I am the former lead for Clinical governance for surgery North Bristol, former lead for clinical Audit for surgery in North Bristol, former lead for thrombosis for Surgery in North Bristol Member of The CAG (Clinical Advisory Group) Educational and clinical supervisor for surgical trainees. I am the lead for colorectal surgery in Southmead Hospital.
