I am a consultant foot and ankle surgeon with experience in treating the full range of foot and ankle conditions, from common problems to complex injuries. My areas of special interest include Achilles tendon injuries, ankle keyhole (arthroscopic) surgery, flatfoot correction, deformity surgery, and fracture management.

I am known for being approachable, taking time to explain conditions clearly, and creating personalised treatment plans that focus on helping patients return to their normal activities safely and as quickly as possible. Alongside my clinical practice, I remain actively involved in teaching and research so that the care I provide is consistently up-to-date and evidence-based.

I specialise exclusively in foot and ankle surgery, offering comprehensive assessment and treatment for both simple and complex conditions. In my private practice, I provide a wide range of advanced, evidence-based treatments tailored to each patient’s needs.
The conditions, treatments and surgeries I offer include:

  • Achilles tendon injuries, including ruptures, tendinopathy and other tendon disorders
  • Ankle arthroscopy (keyhole surgery) for impingement, cartilage damage and soft-tissue problems
  • Chronic ankle instability and ligament reconstruction
  • Complex foot deformities, including structural, post-traumatic and progressive deformities
  • Flatfoot correction and adult-acquired deformity reconstruction
  • Forefoot surgery, including bunion correction, toe deformity surgery and forefoot reconstruction
  • General orthopaedic trauma care related to the lower limb
  • Management of foot and ankle fractures, including complex trauma
  • Minimally invasive and arthroscopic procedures where appropriate
  • Treatment of tendon disorders, including peroneal tendon pathology and entrapment syndromes

My approach combines precise diagnosis, modern surgical techniques and personalised treatment plans to help patients return to full function as safely and quickly as possible.

Over the course of my career, I have gained extensive experience in foot and ankle surgery, completing over 1000 foot and ankle procedures across both elective and trauma practice. This includes a broad range of reconstructive, minimally invasive and trauma surgeries.

My operative experience includes:

  • A large volume of ankle trauma surgeries, including fracture fixation, syndesmosis repair and pilon fracture reconstruction
  • Achilles tendon surgery, including acute rupture repair and reconstruction for neglected ruptures
  • Ankle arthroscopy and keyhole surgery for cartilage injuries, impingement and soft-tissue conditions
  • Ligament reconstruction for chronic ankle instability
  • Minimally invasive and arthroscopic procedures for suitable conditions
  • More than 300 midfoot and hindfoot surgeries, including subtalar fusions, complex deformity correction and triple fusions
  • Over 350 forefoot procedures, including bunion corrections, toe deformity surgery and first MTP joint fusions

Across my wider trauma and orthopaedic practice, I have also performed over 3,000 orthopaedic procedures in total, giving me strong experience in trauma care and lower-limb injury management.
My surgical volume and case mix reflect my specialist focus in foot and ankle conditions, combining high case numbers with a broad range of complex and reconstructive procedures.

Alongside my clinical practice, I hold several roles that support high-quality foot and ankle care and the wider orthopaedic community. I am actively involved in medical education, regularly teaching on Royal College of Surgeons courses, supporting junior doctors preparing for the FRCS (Tr & Orth) examination, and contributing to national training initiatives that help shape future surgical teaching. I also develop multiple-choice questions for the UKITE and BOA examinations, supporting assessment of trainee knowledge and competency.

I remain engaged in research and clinical improvement, with multiple peer-reviewed publications, national awards, and participation in major UK multicentre audits focusing on trauma care, rehabilitation, and service optimisation. Additionally, I serve as a reviewer for orthopaedic journals and have contributed to educational resources within the British Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society (BOFAS).

These roles allow me to stay at the forefront of developments in foot and ankle surgery, ensuring that my patients benefit from up-to-date, evidence-based care.
