I am a consultant orthopaedic surgeon specialising in trauma and limb reconstruction. With over a decade of experience, I provide expertise in complex fracture management, deformity correction, limb lengthening, non-union surgery and bone infection management. I currently work in the Major Trauma Centre at the Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton. My practice is supported by advanced fellowship training at St George’s Hospital (Tooting), the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital (Stanmore), and Groote Schuur Hospital (Cape Town). I deliver a comprehensive, modern, multidisciplinary approach to complex limb problems.
My trauma practice includes management of upper and lower limb fractures, complex peri-articular injuries and foot and ankle trauma, with a particular interest in orthoplastic reconstruction for combined bone and soft tissue injuries.

My limb reconstruction practice covers deformity correction, non-union management, limb lengthening for discrepancy and stature, using both internal fixation and external circular frames to deliver bespoke, patient-centred treatment.

My clinical interests include trauma (all aspects) and limb reconstruction.

My other treatments include bone defects, fractures, limb reconstruction and malunion. I have pioneered the clinical use of bone transport nails for segmental bone defects and am currently the highest-volume surgeon worldwide for this treatment. My practice integrates bone transport with limb lengthening where required, offering early weight bearing for patients undergoing treatment for bone loss.

As Clinical Lead for Trauma at University Hospitals Sussex Major Trauma Centre, I oversee the organisation, delivery and governance of trauma services, ensuring safe and efficient patient pathways. As Research Lead for Trauma, I oversee study delivery, recruitment, academic collaboration and development of new research initiatives.

I am also HR Lead for Orthopaedics and Co-Chair of the Limb Reconstruction MDT at University Hospitals Sussex, providing clinical and strategic leadership for complex case coordination and patient-centred decision-making.

As Regional Educational Lead for Trauma and Limb Reconstruction (Kent, Surrey & Sussex), I oversee teaching, curriculum design and training for surgeons and multidisciplinary teams.

I have a strong interest in global health and charitable surgical work in low- and middle-income countries. As part of the GAMMED team, I undertake bi-annual missions to The Gambia, supporting local services in limb reconstruction, with a focus on neglected fractures, bone defects and deformity correction, emphasising sustainable skill-sharing and capacity building.

I remain actively involved in international collaboration and surgical education, regularly teaching advanced limb reconstruction techniques—including Taylor Spatial Frame, bone transport and motorised lengthening devices—and mentoring surgeons in the UK and overseas.
