If you’re considering surgery for weight loss, gallstones, or a hernia, I understand that choosing the right surgeon matters. I am a highly experienced consultant upper gastrointestinal and bariatric surgeon, specialising in advanced minimally invasive (keyhole) surgery, with a strong focus on excellent outcomes and personalised patient care.
I have performed over 3,000 operations and have extensive expertise in weight‑loss surgery, laparoscopic gallbladder surgery, and keyhole hernia repair. My approach combines technical precision with clear communication and a genuine commitment to supporting patients through every stage of their treatment.
My focus is on procedures that deliver meaningful, long‑term improvements in health and quality of life. My practice centres on proven bariatric procedures, alongside safe and effective surgery for gallstones and hernias, using modern minimally invasive techniques wherever possible.
A personal, patient‑centred approach is central to how I work. Patients often value my calm, approachable manner and my ability to explain complex options clearly. I take the time to understand each individual’s goals, providing honest advice and tailored treatment plans — from the initial consultation through to recovery and long‑term follow‑up.
My results for weight‑loss surgery are published on the National Bariatric Surgery Registry, and I have received five‑star feedback on platforms including Doctify and Google, which can be viewed on my website. Private patient outcomes are also reported on the Private Healthcare Information Network (PHIN).
I run regular clinics for gallstone and hernia patients most weeks, with both face‑to‑face and video consultations available to book online. Patients can usually be seen within a week of enquiry. Weekly private operating lists and excellent theatre capacity mean that surgery can typically be scheduled within weeks.
I am a recognised clinical leader and currently serve as Chair of a Medical Advisory Committee for a charity, while continuing to work within the NHS as Lead for the Bariatric Surgery Service. In recognition of my contribution to weight‑loss surgery, I was awarded the prestigious Hunterian Professorship of Surgery by the Royal College of Surgeons of England.
I remain actively involved in clinical research and continue to publish original scientific work, ensuring that my patients benefit from treatment informed by the latest evidence and best practice.
