I am an experienced ophthalmologist and cataract surgeon. I am head of the Vitreoretinal service at Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Trust and am highly skilled in complex cataract surgery. I have performed thousands of cataract and vitreoretinal procedures (including IOL exchange) and vitreoretinal surgery for floaters, epiretinal membranes, macular holes and retinal detachment. I am one of the few surgeons in Yorkshire who can combine premium lens surgery with vitreoretinal surgery in suitable patients using the smallest 27G (0.4 mm incision) vitrectomy. I also specialise in retinal diseases, general ophthalmology, glaucoma and diabetic eye disease including YAG and argon laser treatments.
I trained at Imperial College, London, followed by the John Radcliffe hospital in Oxford before completing my ophthalmology training in Yorkshire.
I am a clear communicator and I will help you navigate the complex world of modern surgical options to find your personalised best fit. I use the full spectrum of intraocular lenses (monofocal - Eyehance, EDOF - Puresee/Vivity, multifocal - Panoptix/Odyssey/Envy, toric) for treatment of near-sightedness (myopia), farsightedness (hyperopia), presbyopia (loss of reading vision with age) and astigmatism (with toric lenses).
