Mr Ahmed Ibrahim

Consultant Plastic Surgeon

MBBS, MSc, FRCS (Plast), MRCS

I am one of only a few plastic and reconstructive surgeons in the UK with additional specialist training in breast cancer surgery, allowing me to offer comprehensive care for patients undergoing both reconstructive and oncological breast procedures. My NHS practice is at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust, specialising in both reconstructive and aesthetic plastic surgery in addition to breast cancer surgery.

I completed two advanced fellowship trainings in microsurgical reconstruction, aesthetic surgery and oncoplastic breast surgery at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS trust, and I am on the GMC specialist register for plastic surgery. I treat adults and children, offering a comprehensive range of surgical procedures with a commitment to patient safety, clinical excellence, and natural-looking results.

My practice covers the full spectrum of plastic surgery. In aesthetic surgery, I specialise in breast surgery (augmentation, reduction, uplift, male breast reduction), body contouring (tummy tuck, lower body lift, liposuction, fat transfer, arm lift and thigh lifts), combined body contouring surgeries after massive weight loss, and facial cosmetic surgery (eyelid surgery [blepharoplasty], brow lift, facial lipomodelling, ear pinning). In reconstructive surgery, I have extensive expertise in oncoplastic breast surgery, including Nipple and skin-sparing mastectomy, Microsurgical breast reconstruction using own tissue from lower tummy (DIEP flap reconstruction) or using tissue from upper inner thigh (TUG, PAP flap), or using back muscle (LD flap reconstruction). I also perform implant based breast reconstruction and symmetrising breast procedures including revision surgeries for implants. I perform lumpectomies for breast cancer and partial breast reconstruction using therapeutic breast reduction or uplift or using own tissue from chest wall (chest wall flap). I treat patients with breast deformities/changes such as Poland syndrome, and tuberous breast. I also treat skin lesions, lumps and skin cancers (melanoma and non-melanoma) and perform complex reconstructive surgery after skin excisions or after trauma.

During my training and consultant practice in the East Midlands, I have performed a high volume of both reconstructive and aesthetic procedures. I have completed hundreds of cases of breast reconstruction using own tissue from lower tummy (DIEP flap), breast reductions, enlargement, uplift. I routinely perform breast augmentation (using fat grafting or implants), breast reduction, and uplift, as well as body contouring procedures. I have extensive experience in skin cancer surgery and reconstruction, and I manage acute burns and trauma as part of my NHS on-call commitment. My approach is always tailored to the individual patient's goals and anatomy to achieve natural looking results.
