Specialises in
I have been a Consultant Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon since 2008 and have specialised exclusively in breast conditions for over 20 years. I practise privately at Spire Bristol and within the NHS at North Bristol NHS Trust, where I have been the Clinical Director of Breast Services for the past six years. Across my NHS and private practice, I have performed more than 4,000 breast operations and am deeply committed to improving the lives of people affected by breast cancer.
My clinical expertise includes the assessment, investigation and management of both benign (non‑cancerous) and malignant breast conditions. I am known for providing personalised, compassionate care and for offering treatment plans tailored to each individual in a calm and supportive environment, working closely with an experienced Breast Clinical Nurse Specialist. I also offer a rapid‑access service, enabling patients to be seen, examined, undergo imaging and, where necessary, have a biopsy performed on the same day.
I work closely with specialist colleagues in radiology, oncology and plastic surgery, and my patients are discussed at a weekly multidisciplinary team meeting to ensure the highest possible standard of care. I am also a Public Health England–trained breast screening surgeon.
In addition to my adult practice, I hold an honorary contract at Bristol Children’s Hospital and am the Lead Paediatric Breast Surgeon for Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire. I have particular experience in caring for teenage boys and girls aged 11 to 18 with breast concerns, and I enjoy supporting young people and their families through what can be an anxious time.
I graduated from the University of Bristol in 1995 and completed specialist oncoplastic breast surgery training in both the UK and the United States. I became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (England) in 2006 and was appointed Consultant Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon at Worcestershire Royal Hospital in 2008, where I served as Breast Lead for the county for ten years and later as Clinical Director for all Cancer Services. In 2019, I joined North Bristol NHS Trust and was a Trustee of the Association of Breast Surgery from 2017 to 2022.
