I have been employed as a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust (BHRUT) since April 2024. I run the one-stop endometriosis pathway, am developing the one-stop benign gynaecology pathway and am a member of the BSGE accredited endometriosis service at BHRUT. I also support the early pregnancy and acute gynaecology service.
I have been practicing obstetrics and gynaecology in the North Central East London region since 2012 and completed specialty training in 2024. I completed a three-year clinical research fellowship at University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. During this fellowship, as the endometriosis clinical research fellow, I developed skills in advanced gynaecological ultrasound. I also completed the subspecialty fellowship in advanced minimal access surgery at University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. I was awarded a PhD by University College London for my thesis entitled ‘Ultrasound studies of the natural history of endometriosis’.
I have a special interest in advanced gynaecological ultrasound and minimal access surgery. I offer a holistic approach, considering expectant, conservative and surgical options, supporting patients to make decisions about their own care. I offer pelvic ultrasound for the detection of gynaecological pathology, including endometrial polyps, fibroid mapping, ovarian cysts, fallopian tube abnormalities, mullerian tract abnormalities and adenomyosis. I offer detailed early pregnancy ultrasound for dating of pregnancies and the detection of early pregnancy complications. I have expertise in ultrasound assessment of pelvic endometriosis, which includes mapping of deep endometriosis, bowel involvement and urinary tract involvement.
I offer a range of different gynaecological treatments and surgeries for early pregnancy complications and benign gynaecological conditions. Surgical options include hysteroscopic surgery, ultrasound-guided surgical management of miscarriage and a variety of laparoscopic procedures, including hysterectomy, myomectomy, ovarian cystectomy, sterilisation, treatment of endometriosis and cervical cerclage.
I was elected to senior council of the British Society of Gynaecological Endoscopy (BSGE) in 2024 and I chair the diagnostics portfolio. I am co-organiser of several national courses and driving the national effort to improve diagnostics for gynaecological symptoms. I am regularly invited to speak nationally and internationally on this subject, actively participate in research and contribute as a reviewer for peer-reviewed journals. My work has been published in several high impact peer-reviewed journals.
