I am a Consultant Colorectal and General Surgeon at Hinchingbrooke Hospital, Northwest Anglia NHS Foundation Trust. I specialise in general and colorectal surgery and provide treatment of haemorrhoids (banding of haemorrhoids, transanal haemorrhoid dearterialisation (THD) and haemorrhoidectomy.
I offer investigation and treatment for change in bowel habit, rectal bleeding, bowel cancer screening. I also treat conditions of bottom such as anal fissure, fistula, anal skin tags, fissure and abscesses. I offer surgery for bowel cancer (colorectal surgery), surgery for inflammatory bowel disease (ulcerative colitis, Crohn's disease), colorectal cancer screening, colonoscopy, flexible sigmoidoscopy and stoma surgery.
I completed my basic surgical training in Yorkshire and higher surgical training in East of England where I worked in various hospitals including leading University teaching hospitals specialising in laparoscopic general and colorectal surgery.
I am an accredited Endoscopist in lower gastrointestinal endoscopy (colonoscopy, flexible sigmoidoscopy, polypectomy).
I am a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS) and member of association of ACPGBI (Association of Coloproctology of Great Britain and Ireland)
I was awarded a Doctorate in Medicine from the University of Leicester for my research into the effects of Omega 3 fish oils in management of critically ill septic patients. I presented my results internationally and have a number of publications in peer reviewed journals.
