BSc, MBBS, MRCP, PhD
I have been a Consultant Dermatologist at the Royal Free Hospital London for more than 15 years and have been the dermatology lead for skin cancer in the specialist skin cancer department there for over 10 years.
As such, I am highly experienced in using mole mapping and dermoscopy to carry out full skin checks and to identify suspicious skin lesions, as well as undertaking diagnostic skin biopsies and excisions. I have specific experience in managing skin cancers in organ transplant and other immune suppressed patients, a patient cohort with a significantly increased risk of skin cancers, which are often multiple, more aggressive and challenging to treat.
I also have significant experience in other areas of general dermatology including eczema, psoriasis and acne/rosacea, as well as managing acute and chronic inflammatory rashes, disorders of pigmentation, and benign skin lesions such as warts, cysts and skin tags.
I have a strong research and teaching background having several journal publications and am currently involved in a number of clinical trials. I have also written the dermatology book chapter for Practical Nephrology. I regularly teach both UCL medical students and resident doctors.
I take a very patient centred and holistic approach which is evidence-based, ensuring that patients receive comprehensive and compassionate care.
