BSc, MBBS, MRCP, PhD
I have been a Consultant Dermatologist at the Royal Free Hospital, London for over 15 years and I have been the dermatology lead for skin cancer for more than 10 years.
As such, I am highly experienced in using mole mapping and dermoscopy to identify suspicious skin lesions, as well as undertaking diagnostic skin biopsies and excisions. I have specific experience in managing skin cancers in organ transplant and other immune suppressed patients, a patient cohort with a significantly increased risk of developing certain skin cancers, which are often multiple, more aggressive and challenging to treat.
I also have a lot of experience in other areas of general dermatology conditions, including eczema, psoriasis and acne/rosacea, as well as managing acute and chronic inflammatory rashes, disorders of pigmentation, and benign skin lesions such as warts, cysts and skin tags.
In addition, I have a strong background in research and teaching, supervising both UCL medical students and resident doctors in their training, and I am actively involved in a number of dermatology/skin cancer clinical trials.
I take a very patient centred and holistic approach which is evidence-based, ensuring that patients receive comprehensive and compassionate care.
I specialise in general dermatology, with particular expertise in the diagnosis and management of skin cancers and pre-cancerous skin lesions. I undertake skin biopsies and excisions. I am also experienced in managing common dermatological conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, and acne/rosacea.
I have over 15 years' experience as a consultant dermatologist at the Royal Free Hospital, London, and have also been the dermatology lead for skin cancer for over 10 years in a specialist skin cancer department. In addition, I carry out diagnostic skin biopsies and excisions, and have run weekly minor skin surgical lists in the NHS and private sector for over 15 years. I also have expertise in managing general dermatological conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, acne and other inflammatory rashes. As part of the dermatology on-call rota at the the Royal Free Hospital Trust overseeing more of the acute cases, such blistering skin eruptions and drug-related rashes.
I have a strong research background having several journal publications, and I am currently involved in a number of clinical trials. I have also written the dermatology book chapter for Practical Nephrology (Springer). I regularly teach both UCL medical students and resident doctors.
