I am a Consultant Cardiologist and I provide expertise in all aspects of coronary artery disease (acute and stable coronary syndromes), heart failure, cardiac arrhythmias including atrial fibrillation, valvular heart disease and invasive coronary angiography and permanent pacemaker implantation.

I qualified from St Bartholomew’s Medical College, London in 1993 (Dean’s Prize in Medical Sciences, First Senior Scholarship in Medicine, Slott Prize in Chemical Pathology, Weitzman Prize in Cardiology, MBBS with Honours) after attaining a First Class Honours BSc degree from King’s College London. I then undertook training posts in London, including the Royal Brompton, London Chest, Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals before completing my specialist Cardiology training at King’s College Hospital, London. I was awarded my MD in clinical invasive cardiology research in 2004 (University of London). I was then awarded the British Heart Foundation Advanced Training Scholarship which allowed me to spend a year training in invasive cardiology at the Swiss Cardiovascular Centre, Berne, Switzerland before returning to the UK to complete my specialist training at King’s.

I was appointed as a Consultant Cardiologist at Southend University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust in 2005. I'm also an Honorary Consultant Cardiologist at the Essex Cardiothoracic Centre, Basildon, Essex.

I have extensive experience in all aspects of adult Cardiology and am actively involved in clinical cardiac research. I am the Cardiac Clinical Research Lead at Southend Hospital.

I welcome appropriate patients wishing to refer and pay for treatment themselves without the need for a GPs letter of referral.

Below is feedback from some of my patients at Spire Wellesley Hospital:

March 2023: 'Thanks so much for your great care and explanation of all the tests and results. You have been spectacular. I’m so pleased I picked you from the list.'

March 2023: 'I just wanted to write and thank you, very sincerely, for all your hard work in giving me my life back! I am delighted to say the drugs are working their magic, I feel much less tired and am generally almost like my old self. Without your help and your diagnosis, I feel I would have gone further downhill. I realise now I should have come to you six months ago!! I have not needed to take the beta-blockers at all as the palpitations are kept at bay with the Flecainide and Edoxaban, although as you suggested, I have been taking the Flecainide three times daily, rather than two. Again, my sincere thanks to you.'

April 2023: 'My family speak about Dr Nageh as the cardiologist who saved my life! She wasn't there when I had my heart attack, but she has been there every opportunity since then. By treating me as a 'whole' patient, Dr Nageh has been able to thoroughly manage my cardiac position as well as refer onwards for associated and materially impacting treatments. This combined with a comprehensive research knowledge around the medical management of cardiac ischaemia and complex cardiology conditions ensures that she is not just a safe pair of hands but one instead that 'saved my life'. I remain deeply grateful for Dr Nageh's straight talking candour and diligence, and would recommend her for anyone who needs someone who truly cares and wants to make a difference.'

April 2023: 'Fantastic – that’s the one word that springs to mind in describing my personal opinion of Dr Nageh as my Consultant. I was quite poorly when, together with my fiancée, I first saw Dr Nageh. She immediately made us feel comfortable and understood my somewhat lengthy explanation of my illness. There was no rush. She outlined a plan of action and we left much encouraged. Over a period of some eight weeks, she arranged many procedures, saw me for frequent consultations, rang me at home, and emailed me full details of each consultation. All the time, she maintained a friendly and professional approach, and everything was done in a timely manner, such that I was able to go through with my planned marriage with just a few days to spare. I made a good recovery, and I cannot speak too highly of Dr Nageh as a person and a Consultant Cardiologist. Additionally the supporting services and administration provided by the Spire Wellesley Hospital staff were excellent throughout.'

April 2023: 'Overall, a high-performing heart specialist should be able to accurately diagnose and effectively treat heart conditions, while also providing compassionate care and contributing to the advancement of the field through research and innovation, and from my perspective Dr Nageh has achieved all this and more.'

September 2023: 'I have been a patient of Dr Nageh for almost three years. I've found her to be very professional in her approach but also caring and supportive at all times. Dr Nageh goes out of her way to ensure that I fully understand her diagnoses and proposed treatments where appropriate, and I invariably come away from consultations with a feeling of confidence. I cannot speak highly enough of Dr Nageh and have felt confident in recommending her to some of my friends.'

September 2023: 'As a private patient of Dr Nageh, I have always found her to be warm, friendly and welcoming, generous with her time and ready to answer all my questions patiently. When I arrive, she is prepared for me, in that she has read my notes or has a fantastic memory, so she knows what treatments I have already had, what reactions to previous meds and what issues have worried me. She has followed up symptoms speedily, with other required tests, and supplied written reports in a timely manner. My emails have had a quick response, either from herself or from her secretary. Overall, I would say that I am very happy to refer to Dr Nageh as 'my specialist' and will rush back to her for more advice if I continue to experience issues.'

October 2023: 'I recently had a telephone consultation with Dr Nageh and would like to say that in all my time under her care, she has always been very professional whilst showing great care and concern for me as her patient, always listening to my concerns and endeavouring to reassure me, putting me at ease. I feel completely confident in my ongoing treatment with her.'
