I have had extensive training in all aspects of rheumatology and general internal medicine. I see patients from the age of 16 years and above. I am an expert in all peripheral joint injections (both larger as well as smaller joints with the exception of spinal injections), joint aspirations, injections for tendons, bursa and carpal tunnel.

I am a specialist in the management of all rheumatological conditions including osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis (axial spondyloarthritis), gout, pseudogout, reactive arthritis, lupus (SLE), Sjogren's syndrome, scleroderma, myositis, vasculitis, Behcet's, sarcoidosis, PMR (polymyalgia rheumatica), temporal arteritis, fibromyalgia, tendinitis, bursitis, soft tissue rheumatism, chronic back pain, sciatica, neck pain, lumbar and cervical spondylosis, wrist pain, feet pain, ankle pain, plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendinitis, tennis elbow, golfer's elbow, trigger fingers, shoulder pain (rotator cuff syndrome), osteoporosis, carpal tunnel syndrome, Paget's disease and hypermobility and chronic fatigue.

After reading medicine and completing my medical degree (MBBS) with a first class, I undertook my postgraduate medical training in various teaching hospitals in the North West of the UK (2001-2005) and was awarded membership of the Royal College of Physicians (London) in 2005. I subsequently undertook higher specialist training in rheumatology and general internal medicine in London and South East England. This had included three years training (2008-2011) at the Academic Research Unit at King's College Hospital and Guy's and St Thomas' Hospital London. During this period, I was awarded an MSc in rheumatology from King's College London. I successfully completed the specialty certificate examination for rheumatology in 2011 and was awarded the post nominal MRCP (UK) (Rheum). I am a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of UK having been awarded my fellowship (FRCP) in 2014.

I have been working as a consultant in the NHS since 2011 and have a great interest in undergraduate and postgraduate medical education. Having been the LFG lead and Royal College Tutor for medicine and have a keen interest in postgraduate medical education. I supervise undergraduate and postgraduate medical trainees and am educational supervisor for medical post graduate trainees. I am an accredited appraiser for Consultant Physicians for whom I regularly undertake medical appraisals.

I have been the Regional Specialty Advisor to the Royal College of Physicians (UK) and have been the Regional Chair (South East England) for the British Society for Rheumatology (BSR).

I have been the Clinical Lead for Rheumatology in Medway (the department provides rheumatology services across Medway, Swale, Dartford and Gravesham) since 2018. I am the research and audit lead for the department and a Principal Investigator (PI) for number of clinical studies.

I am the research lead for the rheumatology department at Medway. I am a Principal Investigator (PI) for a number of interventional and observational studies and was recognised by the National Institute for Health and Care Research NIHR for Research support award in 2023. I have published my findings in the form of research papers, journal articles and posters in national and international conferences.
