I am a Consultant in Sport and Exercise Medicine, based in the Midlands. I currently hold positions at the Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre Stanford Hall and at the UK Sports Institute where I am the Team Physician to the British Gymnastics World Class Programme. I am also the Team Doctor for Prem Rugby's Bristol Bears.
I am passionate about musculoskeletal medicine and enjoy my role in working collaboratively with patients to help them do more of the things they love, whether that be high level sport or recreational pursuits.
I have experience in a variety of sports having previously taken on roles with Wolverhampton Wanderers, The Football Association, Gloucester Rugby, Worcester Warriors and the Rugby Football Union.
I have also been fortunate to be part of Team GB at the Paris Olympics 2024 and at the 2023 European Games as well as Team England at the Birmingham Commonwealth Games 2022 and Trinbago 2023 Commonwealth Youth Games.
Outside of sport I have also been a medical consultant to the Royal Ballet Company based at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden.
I trained at the University of Birmingham and Queen Mary's University of London before beginning my career in Birmingham and then moving to Bath to train as a GP. Subsequently I returned to the Midlands to undertake Higher Specialist Training in Sport and Exercise Medicine.
During this period I undertook a PhD at the University of Birmingham in the field of Sport Related Concussion, an area in which I continue to have an active research interest.
I also enjoys medical education and am now the Clinical Director of the University of Bath Sport and Exercise Medicine MSc course, helping doctors to develop their experience and understanding in this field.
