I am a Consultant Neurologist based at Norwich and Great Yarmouth. I have over 15 years experience in neurology and I received a PRIDE award for outstanding patient care in 2023. In my general neurology clinics, I see full spectrum of neurological conditions such as headaches, epilepsy, memory disorders, muscle and nerve disorders, multiple sclerosis and Parkinson's disease. I also run a weekly stroke and TIA clinic.
My sub-specialty expertise is in neuromuscular disorders, including motor neurone disease (MND), myasthenia gravis and peripheral neuropathies. I am experienced in the treatment of these disorders with immunological therapies.
I was awarded MSc and PhD by the University of Sheffield for my research in MND, including genetics of MND, biomarkers of disease progression and respiratory and nutritional management of MND. I have presented and published extensively in these areas on international platforms and has won several research prizes, including the MND Association’s International research symposium prize and North of England Neurological Association’s Crawford prize for clinical research.
During my research fellowship, I was supervised by Prof. Dame Pamela Shaw who is one of the leading international experts in this field.
In addition to my full time clinical job, I am also proud to be an honorary associate professor at the University of East Anglia. I take keen interest in training medical students and all grade of neurology trainees. I have previously held positions of neurology service director and clinical governance lead.
