I have been practicing as a paediatrician for 30 years and have been a Consultant Neurodevelopmental Paediatrician for 17 years with expertise in diagnosing and treating children with Autism, ADHD, Developmental problems and helping children with academic underachievement.
I have worked in 3 premier institutions in Delhi and Asia’s largest paediatric hospital.
I have gained extensive experience in a wide variety of paediatric problems having worked in 12 hospitals in UK and am able to provide holistic care to all my patients.
I have worked as a Consultant in Community Paediatrics at Leeds Teaching Hospitals and Royal London Hospital till 2017 and only do private practice now at 3 hospitals in London including Spire London East Hospital (others are Portland Hospital and Holly Private Hospital).
I have been awarded “Clinical Excellence Award” for my commitment to delivering excellent care to my patients in the NHS and was listed amongst top 250 specialists in UK in Tatler’s doctors guide.
I have published over 15 articles in peer reviewed journals and have presented at both national and international conferences. I am passionate about raising awareness about Autism and ADHD and giving the best possible outcomes to these children with my management.
My specialist areas include:
Developmental Delay
I assess children referred with developmental delay (e.g. speech delay, motor delay) I have a network of qualified therapists that I work closely with to ensure families are well supported and the child is holistically managed.
Autism
Many children with suspected Autistic spectrum disorder are referred to me. I do joint assessments with highly specialised speech therapists to arrive at a diagnosis. I then manage the case with the help of therapists and do detailed reports so that the child gets the right help in school. Many Autistic children have ADHD as a second diagnosis and I have treated over 50 children with ADHD medication with very good improvement in quality of life, developmental and educational outcomes.
ADHD
I get many referrals for ADHD assessment and have treated many children with excellent academic outcomes and improvement in peer and family relationships. I have done additional qualifications with British Association of Psychopharmacology to screen these children for anxiety and depression and manage as appropriate with Child Psychiatrists and Psychologists.
I refer to educational psychologists to rule out specific learning difficulties such as Dyslexia, Dyscalculia etc. I work with a network of very helpful occupational, physiotherapists and speech therapists to ensure the child gets the right support.
I work with specialist Neurologists, cardiologists, geneticists, endocrinologists etc to rule out other possible medical problems and genetic conditions in children with developmental delay, Autism and ADHD.
