I am a Consultant Gynaecologist and Gynaecological Oncology Surgeon with over 15 years of experience dedicated to women’s health. I support women with a wide range of gynaecological conditions; from common concerns like heavy periods, pelvic pain, fibroids, and ovarian cysts, to complex or serious issues such as suspected or confirmed gynaecological cancers.
I am nationally recognised for my expertise in keyhole and robotic-assisted surgery, which allows me to perform highly complex procedures with minimal disruption to the body. These techniques often mean faster recovery, less pain, lower risk of complications, and a quicker return to normal life. I understand that facing gynaecological problems can be worrying, and I always aim to provide clear, honest advice in a calm, approachable way. My patients often comment on feeling listened to, supported, and reassured throughout their care. Whether you are seeking a second opinion, treatment for a persistent issue, or help navigating a cancer diagnosis, I offer expert, personalised care tailored to your needs and life goals.
I specialise in the full range of gynaecological care, with particular expertise in complex pelvic surgery, keyhole (laparoscopic) and robotic-assisted procedures. I treat conditions such as ovarian cysts, fibroids, endometriosis, abnormal periods, pelvic pain, and postmenopausal bleeding. I also offer specialist care for women diagnosed with gynaecological cancers, including cervical, womb (endometrial), ovarian, and vulval cancers. My surgical work often involves advanced procedures to remove tumours while preserving fertility where possible.
I routinely perform hysterectomies, myomectomies (removal of fibroids), ovarian cyst removal, and diagnostic procedures such as hysteroscopy and laparoscopy. I am particularly known for using minimally invasive techniques that improve outcomes and recovery for my patients.
To date, I have performed over 1,500 gynaecological operations, including more than 350 complex robotic procedures and over 500 advanced laparoscopic (keyhole) surgeries. I regularly perform hysterectomies, ovarian cyst removal, fibroid surgery, and cancer operations for the womb, cervix, ovaries, and vulva. I also carry out fertility-sparing cancer procedures for younger patients wishing to preserve the ability to have children. My work spans both the NHS and private practice, and I am frequently referred complex or high-risk cases from across the region. I have helped establish Liverpool Women's Hospital as a national centre for robotic gynaecological surgery and regularly train other consultants in advanced surgical techniques.
In addition to my clinical work, I hold several leadership and teaching roles. I am the Lead for Gynaecological Oncology and the Clinical Governance Lead in Gynaecology at Liverpool Women's Hospital, where I oversee patient safety, quality of care, and service improvement. I am also an Honorary Clinical Lecturer at the University of Liverpool and regularly teach medical students, junior doctors, and fellow consultants in advanced surgical techniques. I contribute to national research studies in gynaecological cancer and have published widely in medical journals. I am also a recognised trainer and proctor in robotic surgery, supporting the development of minimally invasive surgery across the UK and internationally. My aim is to continually improve the standard of care women receive, both in my clinic and across the wider healthcare system.
