I trained in medicine at the University of Edinburgh and dermatology in Edinburgh. Before taking up my consultant post. I spent three years studying for my MD degree on ‘Nitric Oxide as a regulator of apoptosis and inflammation in human skin following ultraviolet irradiation’. I have worked as a dermatology consultant in NHS Fife since 2009.
I am the skin cancer lead for NHS Fife, I chair the Scottish Dermatology Society Skin Cancer Group. I am an organiser of the Scottish Annual National Skin Cancer Meeting.
I am a member of the British Hair and Nails Society. I set up and I am a member of the Scotland hair group which meets regularly. I keep up to date in the management of hair and nails by attending both National and International meetings that focus on this speciality.

I live in South Edinburgh with my two young daughters. I am passionate about sport, my main interest include mountain running, triathlon, open water swimming, downhill skiing and ski mountaineering.
I enjoy exploring new restaurants in Edinburgh, socialising with friends and family and generally being outdoors in Scotland and around the world.
