Specialises in
I am a specialist in pain medicine with a particular interest in spinal pain and the precise diagnosis and treatment of conditions such as sciatica and brachialgia.
I currently lead the pain service at The Walton Centre for Neurology and Neurosurgery in Liverpool, where I focus on helping patients manage chronic low back and neck pain. My approach combines careful assessment with targeted treatments, including advanced procedures such as spinal injections and radiofrequency denervation, designed to relieve pain and improve quality of life.
Alongside my clinical work, I am actively involved in teaching and training, regularly delivering spinal injection courses at both national and international level. I am also Chairman of the Interventional Pain Special Interest Group of the British Pain Society, as well as the North England Pain Medicine Group, reflecting my commitment to advancing standards of care within the specialty.
I have contributed to a number of publications and textbook chapters and am currently editing a book on cancer pain management, ensuring my practice remains aligned with the latest developments in pain medicine.
I take a patient-centred approach, working closely with individuals to understand how pain is affecting their daily life and tailoring treatment plans to support long-term improvement.
Outside of work, I enjoy cycling and playing badminton.
