Dr Kristopher Knott

Consultant Cardiologist

MA MBBS PhD MRCP

I am a Consultant Cardiologist at St George's Hospital with over 10 years’ experience treating patients with a wide range of heart conditions. I specialise in general cardiology, heart failure management, preventative cardiology, and advanced heart scans such as cardiac MRI and cardiac CT. My PhD in cardiac imaging makes me an expert in using the latest scan techniques to diagnose heart problems quickly and accurately. I place great importance on clear explanations, careful assessment and personalised care, whether patients come to me with chest pain, palpitations, high blood pressure, shortness of breath or concerns about their future heart health.

I see and treat patients with many different heart conditions, including coronary artery disease, heart failure, valve problems, rhythm disturbances, and high blood pressure. I also support people who are concerned about their risk of heart attack or stroke and want a preventative assessment or heart health check. My expertise in cardiac MRI, cardiac CT and echocardiography allows me to provide precise diagnoses and guide treatment decisions effectively.

Over the course of my career, I have reported and overseen thousands of advanced heart scans and investigations. I have managed many patients with complex conditions across both NHS and private practice, giving me broad experience in the full spectrum of cardiology. My clinical work covers both urgent cardiac problems and long-term management, ensuring that patients receive thorough care at every stage.

In addition to my private practice, I am a consultant at St George’s Hospital in London, where I lead general cardiology and heart failure clinics and oversee non-invasive cardiac imaging services. I am also active in research, with my PhD focused on cardiac imaging, and my work has been published in leading journals. I contribute to teaching and training nationally and internationally, and my aim is always to provide patients with the highest quality, evidence-based care in a supportive and professional environment.
