"I enjoy working at Spire because the facilities and clinical support align well with the patient-centred cardiac services I provide, enabling high-quality, personalised cardiovascular care."
Virtual consultations:
I am a consultant cardiologist at Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital, bringing over a decade of experience in cardiovascular care. I specialise in interventional cardiology, valvular heart disease, coronary heart disease, palpitations, chest pain and hypertension (high blood pressure).
Before joining Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital, I served as a complex coronary intervention fellow at St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in London. I also co-founded Bio habit Ltd, where I work as medical director, focusing on developing advanced diagnostics for better patient care.
I specialise in the assessment and management of coronary artery disease and a broad range of cardiovascular conditions. My practice includes comprehensive cardiac risk assessment and risk reduction, management of high blood pressure and cholesterol, and the investigation of symptoms such as chest pain and breathlessness. I provide advanced cardiac assessment using contemporary imaging and physiology, and undertake interventional cardiology procedures including coronary angiography and percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI or stenting), including complex and high-risk cases. My approach is patient-centred, using evidence-based techniques to guide diagnosis, treatment, and shared decision-making.
I have performed over 2,000 percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) procedures across my NHS and private practice. I have extensive experience in complex coronary intervention, including chronic total occlusion (CTO) PCI, advanced calcium modification techniques, and the routine use of intravascular imaging to guide and optimise outcomes. I am internationally recognised for my expertise in these advanced interventional techniques and regularly contribute to education, training, and service development in this field.
Alongside my clinical practice, I hold a number of leadership and managerial roles. I am the BCIS AHP Lead Consultant, contributing to national service development and professional standards in interventional cardiology, and a Royal College Tutor with responsibility for postgraduate education and trainee supervision. I am also involved in local clinical governance, service development, and multidisciplinary leadership within a tertiary cardiothoracic centre.
