I specialise in General Cardiology and I have a sub-specialty interest in invasive cardiology and coronary angioplasty and percutaneous coronary intervention (angioplasty). I have been in Private Practice since 2007. Within cardiology, I have interest and expertise in chest pain, angina, heart failure, hypertension, valvular heart disease and arrhythmias.
I obtained my medical degree from Bristol University in 1993 and subsequently trained in general and interventional cardiology in the UK and New Zealand, working in four interventional centres. As a National Heart Research Fund fellow, I completed my MD at the University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire and the University of Warwick in 2002. I am a BSE accredited echocardiographer.
I was appointed as Consultant Cardiologist to the Worcestershire Royal Hospital in 2006 to set up our local angioplasty service. This commenced in October 2008 and now provides a highly regarded service to over 1,100 patients per year.
I am the clinical lead for cardiology services at Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust, also hold the post of NHS England Cardiac Lead for the West Midlands and have previously served for 9 years as the Divisional Medical Director for Specialty Medicine.
